Bemboka Environmental Sustainability Policy

Naturally, sustainability is something that we feel very strongly about, so we are delighted to introduce Bemboka into our range. The brand encompasses sustainability, working closely with raw material suppliers to ensure that they are ethically sourced. The manufacturing of all items strategically takes place in New Zealand, Turkey, Italy and Portugal; never uses harsh chemicals and focus is placed on saving energy and recycling. Of course, their workforce also enjoys the highest of standards when it comes to their working conditions.

The strategy behind the Bemboka brand encompasses sustainability at the core of its values. Defining who we are and what we stand for through best practice, the Bemboka team strives to not only achieve, but exceed objectives in building a  sustainable brand, consistently working to better ourselves and our products. 
Manufacturing. Bemboka products are proudly manufactured in New Zealand, Portugal, Turkey and Italy, producing premium quality and maintaining a strong, sustainable manufacturing process. This process eliminates the use of any harsh chemicals, ensuring low energy use, high labour standards and a strategically implemented, effectively managed recycling process. 
Raw Materials Bemboka works closely with its raw material suppliers to ensure all products used in the production process are sustainably sourced.
Packaging Bemboka packaging is proudly 100% recyclable, and in the process of incorporating EcoPure® into its packaging process; an innovative organic additive that causes plastic to biodegrade through a series of chemical and biological processes in a landfill disposal environment.
Animal Welfare Bemboka is an advocate of Animal Welfare, and guarantees no harm caused to animals in the production of its goods. The Global Organic Textile Standard trademark and Organic Content Standard trademarks can be found on all cotton and bamboo Bemboka products: A textile product carrying the GOTS label grade 'organic' or the Organic Content Standard 100 (OCS 100) contains 95-100% certified organic fibres.

Yarns. Bemboka strives to source cotton yarns of only the highest standard using suppliers who are active members of the Better Cotton Initiative; a global not-for-profit organization and the largest cotton sustainability programme in the world. https://bettercotton.org/. 
Towels Bemboka towels are manufactured using organic dyes and are certified under STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Approved as suitable for babies and toddlers,® is a globally standardised, independent mark of quality for raw, semi-finished and finished textile products. It certifies materials across all stages of production, and accounts for all accessory materials used in the process. This global certification system assures consumers that certified products meet the strict limit values for several hundred harmful substances of STANDARD 100. 
Sheets. All procceses associated in the production of Bemboka linen and cotton sheets are certified under STeP by OEKO-TEX®; Sustainable Textile Production. STEP is a modularcertification system for production facilities in the textile industry. The goal of STeP is to implement environmentally friendly production processes in the long term, improving health and safety and to promote socially responsible working conditions at production sites. This includes: Chemicals management, Environmental performance, Environmental management, Social responsibility, Quality management, Health protection and safety at work.
